I wanted to like this book. I really did. Movie star with a bad boy persona who's trying to make a change? Small town girl with a heart of gold but you better not cross her.. A best friend most people would kill for. It had all the right ingredients to be a winner. The fact that it was fake dating made it even sweeter.
Unfortunately, I found the plot to be predictable. I kept reading merely to find out if I was right... and I was. The transitions were choppy. I had to go back on multiple occasions and re-read sections to figure out how we got to the new place. And the first intimacy screen was confusing.
Would I read it again? No.
Did I hate it? No.
Overall Sunrise was a sweet story, despite it's flaws. I was interested in reading Sunset but never received the ARC and I didn't like the characters enough to buy it. 3 stars.
